索绪尔在语言与文字的关系上存在一个悖论,一方面他认为语言优先于文字,文字的出现使语言受到了污染,另一方面他又认为语言离不开文字。文章认为索绪尔的悖论是建立在表音体系的文字基础上的。汉字的性质不同于表音体系的文字,汉字具有很强的表义和辨义功能,具有很强的能指性。文章以索绪尔文字悖论为基点,从汉字出发,阐述了汉语符号系统能指的双重性。
Saussure has a paradox on the relationship between language and writing. On the one hand, he believes that language takes precedence over writing. The appearance of words makes the language polluted. On the other hand, he also believes that language can not be separated from writing. The article holds that Saussure ’s paradox is based on the phonetic system. The nature of Chinese characters is different from that of the phonetic system. Chinese characters have a strong meaning of meaning and discernment, and have a strong signifier. Based on the Saussure’s writing paradox, this essay elaborates on the duality of the signifier of Chinese symbolism from the perspective of Chinese characters.
