我国南方部分地区缺少焦炭,铸造生产需要用煤粉代替焦炭化铁。有些工厂用煤粉化铁往往达不到规定的铁水温度,影响铸件质量。有些工厂克服了这个缺点,甚至做到铁水温度高于焦炭化铁。厦门铸造厂用煤粉化铁的铁水温度达到1500℃,铸铁质量按我国规定的指标达到国内先进水平。用煤粉化铁的烟气粉尘污染比焦炭化铁严重,因为煤粉中总有一部分固定碳未燃烧,煤粉中的灰份也比焦炭中的多。严重的空气污染是煤粉化铁必须解决的问题。

In some factories, powdered iron often can not reach the required hot metal temperature, affecting the quality of castings. Some factories have overcome this shortcoming, even making hot metal hotter than coke. Fouling of flue gas with coal dust iron is more serious than coke fining because there is always a portion of the fixed carbon in the coal that is not burning and ash in the coal is more than in the coke.
