早在十几年前汉诺威就以驻京办事处的名义在华建立市场了望哨,但是长期不为国人所知。在入世临近之际,汉诺威在上海浦东扎下营盘,合资成立了上海新国际博览中心,营建目前国内规模最大的综合性会展中心,外资方为汉诺威展览公司、慕尼黑展览公司,杜塞尔多夫展览公司三家清一色的德国兵团。原来的办事处升格成的汉诺威展览会(中国)有限公司。在热热闹闹的2OO1上海国际汽车工业展览会开展前,汉诺威成功掏空了对手的最大国际参展商群体,成为媒体关注的焦点。
