Tao Zongyi, a writer at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty, served as an education official in his later years. He also spent time working on farming. He still worked under the trees and still forgot to write. He remembered what he saw, what he saw or heard, and immediately picked up the leaves around him. After returning home, it was stored in a large, small abdominal tank. In this way year after year, 10 cans were accumulated in 10 years. Later, he opened the jars one by one. He took out the leaves he had accumulated. He revamped them one by one and copied them into 30 volumes. This is the “leaving of leaves into a chapter,” and the population of “Tong farming record.” This story tells us that although the writing was done at one time, and the accumulated materials were all in peacetime, there was no regular accumulation and abundant reserves.
