Objective To understand the level of poliomyelitis antibody (polio) in healthy population in Shunyi District of Beijing, and provide the basis for the immunization strategy that has been formulated by the health department. Methods A total of 243 healthy people aged 6 months or longer in 10 townships of Shunyi District were randomly selected and their venous blood samples were collected for the detection of the antibodies against polio by micro-neutralization test. Results The positive rates of poliovirus types I, II and III in 243 serum samples were 97.94%, 98.35% and 97.53%, respectively. The geometric mean titers of antibodies (GMRT) were 98.74, 89.61 and 69.54, There was a significant difference in GMRT between the two groups (F = 4.574, P <0.05), showing type I> II> III. The age, occupational and poliovirus immunization history did not affect the positive rates of type I, II and III antibodies The age, the history of immunization were the factors influencing the titer of each type of antibody. The higher the age, the lower the antibody titer, the higher the number of immunization, the greater the antibody titer (P <0.05), the immune history <4 times and ≥4 times The antibody GMRT of type I, II and III viruses showed significant difference (t I = 5.63, tⅡ = 4.02, t Ⅲ = 6.69, P <0.05). Conclusions The level of poliovirus in healthy population in Shunyi District is high, forming an immune barrier to polio. With increasing age, antibody titer decreased to complete the whole immunization that 4 doses of the human population antibody titers higher, polio vaccine full immunization is necessary.
