从棉铃虫卵量、天敌和棉花产量 3者之间的关系入手，研究了第三代棉铃虫的防治指标。结果为在卵高峰期调查百株卵量和天敌单位数，当百株卵量减去 22倍天敌单位数，其值≥ 8时，即达到防治指标，需要采取措施进行防治。
Beginning with the relationship between the amount of eggs, natural enemies and cotton yield of cotton bollworm, the control index of the third generation cotton bollworm was studied. As a result, the number of eggs and natural enemies of one hundred eggs were investigated during the peak period of eggs. When the number of eggs of one hundred eggs was reduced by 22 times the number of natural enemies, the value of ≥8, the control index was reached, and measures should be taken to prevent and cure them.
