我们中华民族是世界上最早进入文明的民族之一,在人类历史上留下了大量的文化典籍。古代藏书楼在传承人类文明的过程中功不可没。著名的“南北七阁”是清代乾隆年间为贮藏《四库全书》所建,号称江南第一书城的“天一阁”是保存较完好的古代私家藏书楼之一,近代所建的绍兴古越藏书楼屏弃了“重藏轻用”的旧理念,而成为中国图书馆事业发展史上第一个具有公共图书馆特征的藏书楼。
