抽水蓄能电站,耗用4kWh低谷电量发出3kWh高峰电量,就本身而言是耗能大户;但运行中可优化其他机组的运行方式,从系统角度来看是“节能英雄”抽水蓄能电站是指利用电力系统负荷低谷期的电能抽水至上水库,负荷高峰期放水至下水库发电的水电站,启动迅速,运行灵活,在电力系统中承担调峰、填谷、调频、调相及事故备用等任务。我国从上世纪60年代后期开始建设,21世纪后发展迅速,截至2012年底共有抽水蓄能电站34座,投运26座,在建8座,总装机容量2958.5万千瓦,约占全国总装机的1.7%。
