新疆地震局碳十四实验室在国家地震局地质研究所碳十四实验室等单位的指导和帮助下,已于1986年7月建成。在进行了仪器验收和样品比测试验工作后,测试工作已全面展开。目前已完成了60多个正式样品的年龄测定,这些年代数据已在有关研究课题中得到应用,获得的分析结果是令人满意的。 碳十四测定方法,可以精确地测定5—6万年内含碳样品的年代。因此,它在第四纪地质学、考古学、古人类学、地球化学、古地理学、古气候学、水文学、海洋和地震学等学科中有着广泛的应用。它已成为这些学科中研究数万年内自然、历史现象的一种不可缺少的手段。近年来,在地震地质研究的许多课题中,对现代构造运动,活断层鉴定,古地震年代等问题越来越发挥着重要作用。
The Carbon 14 Laboratory of Xinjiang Seismological Bureau was completed in July 1986 under the guidance and assistance of units such as the Carbon 14 Laboratory of the Institute of Geology of the State Seismological Bureau. After conducting the instrument acceptance and sample test, the test work has been carried out in full swing. At present, the age determination of more than 60 formal samples has been completed. These chronological data have been applied in relevant research projects and the analytical results obtained are satisfactory. Carbon fourteen determination method, can accurately determine the age of 5-6 million years containing carbon samples. Therefore, it has a wide range of applications in Quaternary geology, archeology, paleontology, geochemistry, palaeogeography, palaeoclimate, hydrology, oceanography and seismology. It has become an indispensable means of studying natural and historical phenomena in these disciplines for tens of thousands of years. In recent years, many problems in the study of seismic geology have played an increasingly important role in modern tectonic movement, identification of active faults and the age of paleoseismicity.
