1 Toward X-ray lasers The international team of researchers working at the DESY Laboratory Superconducting TESLA Test Set (TTF) in Hamburg in February 2000 created the shortest free-electron laser wavelength recording. Achievements of 140 scholars from 38 institutes in nine countries have been obtained by far-UV radiation oscillations at a wavelength of 109 nm.
