The present study focuses on Chinese tourism due to its fast growing relevance within the worldwide market and the potential benefits Costa Rica could achieve. This paper employs an econometric model of tourist demand in a developed tourist market like the Costa Rican market which aims to improve its’tourist product. The model is estimated using the method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), employing data for the period 1980-2011, and using the econometric package of STATA.
