Deutsche Bahn (DB) in Berlin, a new ICE high-speed train repair shop. The new plant was put into operation at the same time that the Berlin City Railway was reopened. It is the 3rd DB highly modernized train repair shop following the Hamburg and Munich factories. It is responsible for the technical maintenance and cleaning of the white ICE high-speed train fleet. The plant cost 300 million German marks, initially providing 60,000 jobs for the capital city of Berlin. All 44 ICE2 trains are attached to the Berlin plant for maintenance and will continue to expand.
