快速而合理地测定钢铁中碳、硫含量,对于生产厂和加工厂都具有很大的意义。为此,人们作过不少努力,以便改进测定此类元素的老方法和寻求新的方法。不久前报道的一种同时测定钢中碳和硫的新方法促进了自动化装置的发展。采用这种新方法检验生铁,是将试片或试块投入因气门而始终敞开的炉中,试样在氧气气流中燃烧,产生二氧化碳和二氧化硫。含有过剩氧的燃烧气体由气泵送入两个红外线吸收测量仪,在此即可测定二氧化碳和二氧化硫。红外线吸收测量仪的信号转变成脉冲,装有BcD——编码输出端的两个电子计数器将脉冲相加,计算器指示出的数值即是试样中碳和硫的测量值。从试样燃烧至示出测量结果仅需35秒钟。这种仪器由卡什马特厂专门制造。
Rapid and reasonable determination of carbon steel, sulfur content, for the production plant and processing plant are of great significance. To that end, considerable efforts have been made to improve the old methods of determining such elements and to find new ways. A recent report of a new method for simultaneous determination of carbon and sulfur in steel has facilitated the development of automated devices. Using this new method of testing pig iron, a test piece or test piece is placed in a furnace that is always open due to a valve and the sample is burnt in an oxygen gas stream to produce carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide.
