今四川省甘孜藏族自治州,清末民初时属“川边特别行政区”,民国28年(1939年)西康建省后,属西康之康属地区。故也有“川边”、“康区”之称。该区教育渊源流长,但现代意义上的学校教育开发甚晚,初始于清末“川边改流”之际。其历史大体可划分为清末“兴学”、民国的颓废与复兴、新中国的大发展三个时期。一、清末“兴学”(1907—1911年) 1.清末兴学前的藏区教育
