国家西部大开发战略的实施给西部地区带来了很大的发展和机遇。我省湘西地区通往经济发达地区的希望之路,也是我省十一五计划建设重点工程之一常(常德)吉(吉首)于2004年7月正式动工。主线起于常德市斗姆湖(连接常张高速公路)经桃花源、沅陵县跨沅水、进入湘西的吉首市,在城区乾州跨越209国道及焦柳铁路到达项目终点林木冲。主线全长223.74公里,设计为双向四车道。总投资106亿元,计划于2007年12月底通车。该项目地形复杂,大部分路段要在高山深涧中穿行。但是5万多建设者们不断采用新技术,艰苦建设,目前已完成总投资68%左右。施工质量优良。目前,前来常吉高速
