最近几年,地面和航空γ能谱仪有明显改进,应用领域也有扩大。由于γ能谱仪能测定钾、铀、钍的丰度,所以它能用于勘查或地质填图。钾是通过放射性同位素 K~(40)的1.46MeV_γ辐射直接测量的,铀是通过 Bi~(214)间接测量的,同样,钍是通过 Tl~(208)间接测量的。用γ分析法测定铀和钍,仅在其相应衰变系列处于平衡状态时所得结果才是正确的。
In recent years, the ground and airborne γ-ray spectrometers have been significantly improved, and their applications have also been expanded. Because γ spectrometer can measure the abundance of potassium, uranium and thorium, it can be used for prospecting or geological mapping. Potassium is directly measured by 1.46MeV_γ radiation of the radioisotope K ~ (40). Uranium is indirectly measured by Bi ~ (214). Similarly, thorium is indirectly measured by Tl ~ (208). The determination of uranium and thorium by the gamma analysis is correct only if the corresponding decay series is in equilibrium.
