May 1 International Labor Day originated in the United States. It has successively become the Labor Day in many countries in the world since the latter part of the 19th century. It is a day when the working class organizes various parades to celebrate or protest. But Americans alone do not honor the May Day. The Labor Day for Americans is set on the first Monday in September so that everyone can have a long weekend out on a holiday in the last days of summer. Labor Day this weekend is one of the busiest days on the U.S. road. Apart from a few other incidents, Labor Day in the United States has nothing to do with demonstrations.
