近年来,各国宽带枝术发展异常迅猛,有调查表明,全球宽带用户数量未来4年的年均增长率为62％,到2005年将有30％的家庭使用宽带上网。今年是我国的“宽带年”,宽带业务的应用有了较大发展,互联网游戏、可视图像会议和 VOD等正逐步走入千家万户、企事业单位。宽带网络及业务的发展将在很大程度上改变人们的生活方式。目前几种宽带接入技术各有特点,但由于光纤到户成本高昂,只能应用于高档的新建小区,不适于旧城区改造。Cable Modem在无综合布线的宾馆和住宅小区较适合,在用户相对集中且每节点用户量在200户左右时是较佳的方案,但存在双向改造和漏斗效应等
