The Texas company in the United States is developing ELS (Emitter Location System) for a Tornado electronic reconnaissance aircraft based on orders from the West German Air Force. ELS uses highly intercepted probabilistic receivers to detect, identify and locate radiation from the radar. It is characterized by passive multi-octave distance ranging frequency coverage, the use of electric scanning phased array antenna accurate direction finding. ELS uses several multichannel receivers and several military standard 1750A digital processors. In performing the reconnaissance mission, the ELS can display the target’s attributes and locations in the cockpit via the 1553B data bus
