The United States EPA has confirmed the application for the registration of several active ingredient-based products as follows: 1. The fungicide product under the Problad Plus application approved by Consumo em Verde (CEV) of Portugal for use in strawberry, Tomato, almond, stonefruit and ornamental crops, the active ingredient is a polypeptide called blad, which is derived from β-lupin. FMC and CEV signed a contract to develop and market the biocide, which is expected to be approved in early 2013. 2. DuPont and Syngenta have proposed the following application registrations for various product applications based on the cyanthyliprde (Cyazypyr), a biocide developed by DuPont.
