台湾、香港现当代文学图像既有中华文化传统(包括五四新文化传统)的多层面影响,又长期受到殖民地宗主国文化和世界性文化思潮等外来影响,也较长时间生成于移民和城市文化的演变中,其表现出来的文学与图像关系更紧密地联系着其自身的文学思潮、媒介传播形态等。战后至1970年代是台湾、香港文学历史发展最重要的时期,其文学与图像关系的演变,一是密切反映了现实主义的深化、现代主义的兴盛等思潮运动,由此文图关系成为我们能更开阔考察文学变革的重要内容;二是密切联系着现代社会媒介的多元化,包括现代印刷术、影视、多媒体等在内的现代媒介先后兴起,成为文学图像变化最重要的源头,文学与这些媒介的联姻,成为台湾、香港文学建构自身传统的重要内容。战后至1970年代台湾、香港文学的这种考察,证明文图可以成为文学史叙述的新途径、新方式。
