CE 恰塔努加厂已设计并制造了一些世界上最重且最大的原子能,石油化工及其他工业用的焊接部组件。为制造这些部件有必要发展一些特殊的焊接工艺,设计并制造一些焊接设备。CE 在焊接方面取得的成就举例如下:1.1930年:发展了一种焊接工艺采用本公司生产的保护金属弧焊焊条来取代用铆钉铆接压力容器的方法。用该焊条焊制的汽包嗣后进行水压试验。当汽包达到破坏时的水压大大超过了ASME 锅炉压力容器水压试验规范的标准,故ASME 规范嗣后亦修改规定允许采用焊接方法。该汽包的损坏并非由于结构上的原因,主要是因为人孔盖的机械密封垫片在汽包封头受压过度变形时产生泄漏而造成的。
CE The Chattanooga Plant has designed and manufactured some of the world’s heaviest and largest assemblies of solders for nuclear, petrochemical and other industries. It is necessary to develop some special welding processes for the manufacture of these components and to design and manufacture some welding equipment. Examples of achievements made by CE in welding are as follows: 1. 1930: A welding process has been developed to replace the method of riveting pressure vessels with rivets using the company’s protective metal arc welding electrodes. When the steam drum ruptured when the water pressure greatly exceeds the ASME boiler pressure vessel hydrostatic test standard standards, so the ASME norms later amended to allow the use of welding methods. The damage to the steam drum is not due to structural reasons, mainly due to leakage of the mechanical seal of the manhole cover during overpressure deformation of the steam drum head.
