所谓垃圾邮件,是指不请自来并有商业企图的电子邮件,它使很多企业信息主管相当头痛。垃圾邮件给个人使用者带来的损失也许不很明显,但是如果企业内部每个人都收到这种电子邮件,企业网络受到的伤害可不仅仅是一件麻烦事而已了。没有一家企业欢迎垃圾邮件,但是它们服务器的CPU、硬盘却不得不因为垃圾邮件而降低有效使用率。同时,重要电子邮件容易被淹没在垃圾邮件中而被忽视,这会造成巨大损失。一项统计报告指出:ISP 行业经营者为了对抗垃圾邮件,平均要在每个使用者身上花费2美元成本。
