MOOCs又被称为“慕课”。其意是大规模公开在线课程。学习者通过慕课可以随时随地听到全球顶级大学的课程,极大地弥补了教育资源分配不公所产生的差距,使人们很快捷方便的就可以感受到出国留学的效果。这一课程不同于传统的透过电视广播、互联网、辅导专线、函授等形式的远程平台教育,也不完全等同于近期兴起的教学视频网络共享课程——公开课,更不同于基于网络的学习软件或者在线应用。就目前看到的“大规模、开放式在线课程”而言,可以发现,慕课给传统教学带来了非常强烈的冲击,也给我国 MOOCs is also called “Mu class”.
