甬台温铁路是我国铁路规划的“四横四纵”线路之一,设计时速200 km/h,远期预留250 km/h。施工地处东南沿海地区,地质地貌复杂多变,地基处理尤为重要。台州站站前工程大区域复杂软土地基部分区段采用直径500 mm的预应力管桩处理,施工区域在长1018 m、宽62 m的范围,共需施工预应力管桩578731延米,桩长37～45 m,桩间距2.4 m。施工区域周边乡村居多。
