我区是河南省油桐产地之一,油桐栽培历史悠久,品种资源丰富.但由于长期来用商品混杂种子造林,好坏不分,种性退化,严重影响产量和品质.为了澄清油桐品种资源,选择推广优良农家品种,加速实现油桐良种化,根据省油桐科技协作组的安排,1981年4-10月对全区油桐地方品种资源进行了调查和分类.一、油桐资源的分布我区油桐主要分布在西部、西南部浅山、丘陵地带,重点产区是鲁山县,面积和产量占全区93%以上,十二个山区公社都有大面积栽培.宝丰、叶县、郏县、舞钢区、禹县都有成、幼林分布.见下表:
