如果把20世纪初赴欧美日等国引进油画的画家称中国第一代油画家的话,那么五、六十年代,新中国所培养的画家则是第二代了。如今已年迈古稀的徐坚白,她既是我国第一代油画家的学生,又足第二代的老师,介于这两代之间,她是西方艺术引进中国的传人,又是融中西新艺术的开拓者,她的艺术,带着时代的印辙,书写着半个世纪来的探索历程。
If the painters who first introduced oil paintings to Europe, the United States and Japan in the early 20th century called China’s first generation of oil painters, the painters trained by the New China in the 1950s and 1960s were the second generation. Now she is old and serene, Xu Jianbai, who is both a student of the first generation of oil painters in China and a second generation of teacher, between the two generations. She is a successor of western art in introducing China and a new art of integrating Western and Eastern art Trailblazers, her art, with the era of the tracks, writing half a century of exploration.
