查铁矿是新疆西天山铁矿成矿带矿床之一,然对它的成因向来众说纷纭。1968年发现该矿的新疆地质局综合地质研究队根据铁矿赋存于石榴石矽卡岩中认为是矽卡岩型铁矿1972年新疆地质局第一地质大队,虽不否定系矽卡岩型,但指出铁矿与次火山岩相的“辉石安山岩”相关,矿质来源于次火山岩。近年来,随着火山岩型铁矿成矿说的兴起,凡调查者虽都倾向于查矿系火山岩型铁矿,然对具体成因又各抒己见:有火山喷发说;有次火山岩浆分异说;有火山气液交代说,莫衷一是。笔者在1979—1981年对查矿成因作了专题
