Listed here are the formulas for calculating the insulation loss for home freezers and refrigerators of different sizes with different thickness of insulation layer. Power consumption with normal load and compressor efficiency along with other losses such as around the door has also been estimated. Calculations show that with the addition of insulation to save power, the cooler is only 20% and the refrigerator is only 30%.
