For the first time, we observed the pairing of pollen mother cells (PMC) chromosomes of Mei kiwifruit (variety: No.26 protoplast plants) at the pre-meiotic stage under light microscope and found that the pairing and condensation were obviously asynchronous. Chromosome pairing between the different cell changes in the form of larger, generally bivalent association mainly followed by a variety of other pairing methods (including complex pairing, repeated pairing, centromere or telomere joint and multivalent association) formed Multivalent, there are a small number of unpaired or occur within the pair (occasionally) of the monovalent body and a few pairs of bivalent secondary pairing. Thick lines observed a small number of chromosomal deletion (or duplication), inversion, translocation and loose pairing and other structural changes. This indicates that the plant is a complex segmental heterogeneous hexamer with few structural variations. The plant is also considered a good material for studying meiotic chromosome pairing and association mechanisms.
