本研究采用语料库统计分析方法,对《现代大学英语》精读教材1-4册词汇特征进行分析,考察了词汇的多样性、词汇密度、复现率以及核心词汇和学术词汇在教材中的覆盖情况。结果显示,教材中仅出现一次的低频词比例超过半数,学术词汇覆盖率偏低,很难满足学生认知水平发展。文章对英语专业基础阶段词汇学习提出两点建议:对核心词汇和低频词汇可以采用梯度学习顺序;基础阶段开始设置一定的理论课程,增加学生的学术词汇量,提高其分析思维能力。
In this study, corpus statistical analysis method was used to analyze the lexical features of 1-4 volumes of Intensive English for Modern College English. The study examined the diversity of vocabulary, vocabulary density, recurrence rate and coverage of core vocabulary and academic vocabulary in textbooks . The results show that the textbook appears only once the proportion of low frequency words more than half of the academic vocabulary coverage is low, it is difficult to meet the cognitive level of students. The article puts forward two suggestions to vocabulary learning of basic English majors: Gradient learning sequence can be adopted for core vocabulary and low frequency vocabulary; basic theory courses can be set up to increase students’ academic vocabularies and improve their analytical thinking ability.
