Seven, benign prostatic hyperplasia Deng et al compared the expression of caspase-1 in normal tissues and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) tissues. In 21 cases of BPH, 15 cases (74.1%) expressed caspase-1 in tissues and 100% in normal prostate tissues. The expression of Caspase-1 in prostatic hyperplasia was significantly reduced, indicating that the enzyme-dependent apoptosis was negatively correlated with the progression of BPH. Martyushev et al.
