二十多年前,是美国《国家地理》杂志的一篇“惊人的东方发现”使西安秦兵马俑在欧美世界一夜成名,也使封闭太久的中国人领略了美国《国家地理》杂志点石成金的无穷魅力。九十年代初,当西安在修造机场高速公路时发现汉景帝阳陵陪葬坑之际,又是这家杂志的记者路易斯·莫沙坦特先生抢先在一九九二年八月号刊上以“一支中国皇帝不朽的军队”为题以及二十多幅精美照片向世界披露了这个不亚于秦俑的惊人发现。
Twenty years ago, an “amazing oriental discovery” made by the National Geographic magazine made Xi’an Terracotta Warriors become famous overnight in the European and American worlds. It also made the closed Chinese for a long time appreciated the pillars of the National Geographic magazine Into the infinite charm of gold. At the beginning of the nineties, when Xi’an discovered the Han Jing Emperor Yangling funeral pit while building the airport expressway, Mr. Louis Mositante, the journalist of this magazine, took the lead in the August 1992 issue “Immortal Army of a Chinese Emperor” as well as more than 20 beautiful photos to the world revealed this no less terrifying than Terracotta Army’s findings.
