The computer named Mark I invented by Howard Aiken was affectionately called the first American computer. In fact, this machine is not entirely electronic, and to be precise, it should be electromechanical. The inventors of Mark I firmly believe that any machine can not enjoy the reputation of having the ability to think. Nonetheless, Howard Aiken and his Mark I played an important role in the history of computers as it was the first computer to be made available to the American public. Several years ago, the EMIAC aircraft of J.w. Mauchly and J. P. Eckert failed to meet the public for military purposes. For a long time, therefore, Mark I was considered the world’s first true PC. However, Germany’s Konrad Euse is in second place
