Research on underground miners found that exposure to radioactive cesium and decay products can increase the risk of lung cancer. Therefore, when it was discovered that earthworms were accumulating indoors, the problem of exposure to this known carcinogen affecting public health was of concern. According to the results of the miner’s research, it is estimated that the indoor sickness in the United States is the cause of death from 6000 to 36,000 cases of lung cancer each year. Due to the differences in working in the mine and living indoors, this estimate is highly uncertain. A number of control group case studies have been conducted to directly assess the risk of indoor sputum lung cancer. Some studies reported positive results or weak positives, while others reported the opposite. In order to provide more information on the risk of indoor lung cancer causing lung cancer, the authors conducted all the controls.
