In Japan, there have been five major earthquakes in recent years, such as the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923 with a magnitude of 7.9; the Sanruku earthquake in 1933 with a magnitude of 8.3; the earthquake in the Southeast China in 1944 with a magnitude of 8.2; Fukui earthquake in 1948, magnitude 7.3 earthquake; Niigata earthquake in 1964, magnitude 7.5. The distribution of these seismic intensities (intensity in Japan) decreases as the epicenter distance increases.
