55SiMoVA钢是耐冲击工具钢,经热处理后具有高的强度(σ_b≥238公斤力/毫米~2)和屈服强度(σ_(0·2)≥196公斤力/毫米~2),高的硬度和耐磨性,高的疲劳强度和冲击韧性以及优良的工艺性能。特别是冲击韧性和滚珠压碎负荷比GCr15钢大大提高:冲击韧性提高5倍左右,滚珠压碎负荷提高60%左右。通过二万多个钻头的现场使用试验证明,牙轮钻头滚动体用55SiMoVA钢比GCr15钢的钻头寿命提高0.5~1倍,而且大大地改善牙轮钻头滚动体的失效形式。该钢含Si、Mo元素较多,在热处理过程中易脱碳,因此在热加工过程中要注意防止钢材表面脱碳。这种钢适用于制造牙轮钻头滚动体,还可制造耐冲击工具。可以进行化学热处理,如渗碳或碳氮共渗等,以提高其耐磨性能。
