“短篇故事合成体”指出自同一作家之手并且具有主题关联性的短篇合集。与一般意义上的短篇集类似,“短篇故事合成体”包含独立成篇的多个故事,不同的是,“短篇故事合成体”中看似独立的故事因为相同的主题形成明显的相交或相近关系,被评论界视为具有长篇特征。本文探究“短篇故事合成体”在主题与结构上同时并存的统一性与差异性。“短篇故事合成体”包含聚焦于同一主题的情节结构,但同时含有与此发生偏离的主题与形式差异。正是这种统一与差异关系使得体裁具有长篇与短篇兼而有之的基本特点,也因此使得关于这一体裁的阐释变得复杂。文章将以门罗的《逃离》为例子加以阐述。
Short Story Combinations Short collections of short stories with thematic relevance from the same author. This article explores the unity and difference of coexistence of theme and structure in short story composition. Short Story Combinations contains plot structures that focus on the same theme, but at the same time contain the subject matter and formal differences that deviate from it. It is this unity and the relationship between the differences that make the genre has the basic characteristics of both long and short, thus complicating the interpretation of the genre. The article will Monroe’s “escape” as an example to elaborate.
