乍得是非洲中北部的一个内陆国,在它的128万平方公里的土地上,生活着400多万各族人民。乍得东北部埃尔迪恩内迪高原区属热带高地草原气候,植被茂盛,得天独厚.重峦迭嶂把那里分裂成一片片与世隔绝的天然牧场,科托科人在那里过着游牧生活。由于交通不发达,很少有外人闯入这一少数民族世代聚居的家园,科托科人至今还保持着大部分原始部族的风俗。
