Based on the test results of 22 white dolphin dolphins from the Sanriku coast of Japan, the accumulation characteristics of essential elemental iron in 13 tissues and organs were studied. The concentration of iron in lung, liver and spleen is significantly higher than that of other organs, and the concentration of iron in the skin and blubber is very low. The study found that the average concentration of iron in the cetacean liver was significantly and positively correlated with its maximum duration of diving (y = 285.17 × 0.5267; r2 = 0.92; y: a, the average concentration of iron in the liver in μg · g-1 Heavy; x: maximum diving duration, in units of min). Using this relationship, the maximum diving duration of white dolphin was estimated to be 11.85min for the first time.
