Schumann combines German classical musical traditions with German romantic music, making his musical compositions full of romanticism. Schumann made bold innovations in form and created a precedent for the piano composition. He combines music and romantic literary poetry to make most of his piano works possess unique personal titles and unique musical style. This article explores the romantic elements of Schumann’s Fantasia (OP.12).
