A new walk-through cable-stayed bridge has been built in the port of Pescara, central Italy, connecting the southern and northern city seasides separated by the Pescara River. The bridge was originally designed as a suspension structure with two separate curvilinear beams connected at both ends of the main beam. Considering the structural response of the bridge, especially when dynamic loads act on two main girders, the structure has a great deformation, and a stiffer cable-stayed structure is proposed. After the study, the bridge eventually used two separate steel-concrete composite beams, each beam using one side of the cable support (anchored in each beam inside); tower tilt 10 °, by the diameter of 1 m of hollow steel pipe Composition, the external set T-shaped stiffener, using a pair of back rope support. Compared with the suspension bridge scheme, the structural behavior of the cable-stayed bridge scheme is more effective, the variability is smaller, and the aesthetic characteristics of the bridge are also well demonstrated.
