Objective: To study the relationship between the lack of trace elements and recurrent respiratory tract infections (RRI) in children. Methods: A total of 143 children with recurrent respiratory tract infection who came to our pediatric department were enrolled. 143 normal children were selected as the control group. The content of trace elements and humoral immune function in children and normal children were measured. Results: Serum zinc, iron, calcium and immunoglobulin IgA, IgG in children with recurrent respiratory tract infection were significantly lower than those in normal children (P <0.05). Conclusion: There is a close relationship between the lack of trace elements and recurrent respiratory tract infections in children. The decrease of trace elements can lead to the decrease of children ’s immune capacity and lead to recurrent respiratory tract infections in children.
