城市的精神文明建设,是科学、教育、文化事业和公共文化服务等多方合力的成果,其中公共图书馆以保存文献、传承文明、传播文化为基本宗旨,具有维系和引领市民阅读基本取向的职能。市民阅读指数是一个城市文化气质的最有力表现形态。因此,图书馆与“阅读”是城市精神文明中的硬、软件,两者共同决定着一个城市的文化气质与精神面貌。张家港图书馆多年来组织开展了一系列“全民阅读”活动。
The construction of spiritual civilization in cities is the result of many concerted efforts of science, education, cultural undertakings and public cultural services. Among them, public libraries have the basic tenet of preserving documents, inheriting civilization and spreading culture, and have the function of maintaining and leading the public to read the basic orientation . Citizen reading index is the most powerful manifestation of a city’s cultural temperament. Therefore, libraries and “reading” are the hardware and software in urban spiritual civilization, and both together determine the cultural qualities and mental outlook of a city. Over the years, Zhangjiagang Library has organized a series of activities such as “reading for all”.
