近年我有幸结识旅美雕塑家陈哲敬先生、陈明珠女士,他们兄妹二人满怀对祖国文化遗产的珍爱之心,30余年来竭尽精力搜集流失海外的瑰宝——中国古代佛雕。陈先生五十年代定居美国,从事雕塑创作。他在纽约大都会博物馆内看到龙门石窟宾阳洞的古代帝后礼佛图,在美国费城宾夕法尼亚大学博物馆看到唐昭陵六骏中的飒露紫、拳毛(马呙)二骏,面对那残缺、碎裂、伤痕累累的石雕,痛苦之情油然而生。甚至看到有些流失海外的古佛雕被人当作灯座时,他的心在滴血。他忽然意识到:“若不及时抢救、势必毁于不测,我同时认识到保护中国古代雕塑艺术遗产,比我自己从事雕塑创作更有价值。于是我矢志尽己所能,搜集流失海外石刻珍宝。”并期待着让它们回到祖国的怀抱。
In recent years, I have had the privilege to get acquainted with Mr. Chen Zhejing and Ms. Chen Mingzhu, sculptors from the United States and the United States. Both of them are cherished with great love for the cultural heritage of the motherland. Over the past 30 years, they have made every effort to collect the lost overseas treasures - the ancient Chinese Buddhist sculptures. Mr. Chen settled in the United States in the 1950s, engaged in sculpture creation. In the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, he saw the statue of the ancient empress erected at the Binyang Cave of the Longmen Grottoes. At the Museum of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Torn, fragmented, scarred sculptures, pain arises spontaneously. Even seeing some of the lost ancient Buddhist carving as a lamp holder, his heart is bleeding. He suddenly realized that “if it is not rescued in time, it will inevitably be destroyed, and at the same time, I realize that it is more valuable to protect the ancient Chinese sculpture and sculpture than I myself am in sculpture.” So I decided to do my best to collect the lost overseas rock inscriptions "And look forward to getting them back to the embrace of the motherland.
