苏州博物馆成立于1960年元旦,是一家地市级综合类博物馆。本馆现有馆藏41109件,其中一级文物865件/套,二级文物1188件/套,三级文物30850件/套,珍贵文物数量占到文物收藏总数的一半以上。此外,苏州博物馆还是全国古籍重点保护单位,收藏有古籍善本725种3128册,普本28501种91754册。馆藏文物以历年考古出土文物、明清书画、工艺品著称,是苏州地区文物收藏、展示、教育、研究的中心。馆址太平天国忠王府为首批全国重点文物保护单位,是国内保存至今最完整的一组太平天国历史建筑物。
Suzhou Museum was established in 1960, New Year’s Day, is a prefecture-level comprehensive museum. There are 41,109 collections in the museum, including 865 pieces of first-class cultural relics, 1188 pieces of second class cultural relics and 30,850 third-class cultural relics, accounting for more than half of the total number of cultural relics collections. In addition, Suzhou Museum is also a national key protection unit of ancient books, with 725 kinds of ancient books, 3128 books and 28501 kinds of books and 91754 books. Collection of cultural relics Archeological artifacts over the years, Ming and Qing paintings, crafts known, is Suzhou cultural relics collection, display, education, research center. The site Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Zhongwang House is the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units and is the most complete set of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom historical buildings preserved in China.
