非洲的前途取决于非洲人民所受教育的类型和性质。谁掌握和指导着一个民族的教育进程,谁就控制了这一民族的观念和思想。在过去五百年的岁月中,非洲与欧洲一直保持着联系——一种对非洲人的思想产生了深远影响的联系。这种联系因一百多年的殖民统治和监护而得以加强,并自1884年柏林会议起以一种既定的形式出现。从此,殖民地非洲的正规教育便只有一个目标和方向——使非洲人 The future of Africa depends on the type and nature of education received by the people of Africa. Whoever masters and guides the education process of a nation controls the concept and thought of this nation. Over the past five hundred years, Africa has been in constant contact with Europe - a connection that has profoundly influenced the thinking of Africans. This connection has been strengthened by more than 100 years of colonial rule and custody and has come into existence in a well-established form since the 1884 Berlin Conference.
