Grassland ecosystems represent a major geographical and economic resource in China,yet many have suffered severely from degradation.Past and current governmental policies have failed to restore the environment and to successfully integrate indigenous practices.Inaccurate understanding of cultural social interactions,pastoral practices and improper policy implementation has led to a decline of productivity and increased herders and environmental vulnerability in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.
