The main bridge of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is a steel truss structure used for highway andrailway. The upper layer of the bridge is the highway bridge,and its deck system consists of steel girders,concreteslabs and pavements. After several years running,cracks in vertical direction have been found in the concrete slabsaround the bolts combined concrete slabs and steel girders. In order to find out the cracking reason,the paper hasestablished a finite element model of concrete decks,bolts and steel girders,modeled real loads in operation,analyzed the mechanism of concrete cracks,proposed some measures to improve the stress state,and finallyconcluded problems that should be paid attention to in design.
