In the classical Chinese text selected by the Department of Education, there is a high-frequency real word, which is the word “from”. It is sometimes used as a preposition, sometimes as a verb, and sometimes as a “vertical.” Here we are going to combine the contents of the teaching materials and talk about its main usages in addition to the “longitudinal” pass. There are two situations when prepositions are “from”. (a) indicates the starting point. “From ...” is equivalent to what we say today “from ...” or “by...”. Generally used to indicate the starting point of time and place. For example: 1 I resigned from Beijing last year and I was living in Fuyang City. (“Minhang”) 2 From Xiqiu to the west, one hundred and twenty steps ... (“Little Shitan”) 3 There is a Secretary’s plan, referring to the fifteenth time since then.
